What should a teacher look like?

What should a teacher look like?

On November 7, 2013, it was reported in a newspaper that a teacher living in a village in India has been crossing a 70-meter wide river daily for the last 20 years and going to teach in another village. He never delayed arriving and never took a vacation. In the rainy season, the river water rises to 20 feet. They still persevere to teach, come to the river bank, put all their belongings in a bag and cross the river through a rubber tube. The distance by road is seven kilometres for which two to three buses have to be changed because the village where they are taught is surrounded by a river on three sides while the distance to cross the river is only one kilometre. That is why they go to the river to teach. (Dunya Newspaper Online)

Sweet Islamic brethren! Teachers are the backbone of any nation’s development. Teachers belong to the conscious class of the nation. The duties of teachers include nation-building, character building, self-purification, leadership preparation, equipping students with high ideals, awakening the consciousness of right and wrong, lawful and unlawful and halaal and haraam. Due to these important responsibilities, the religious teacher was given the status of the spiritual father.

It is said that teachers are in fact the protectors of the nation because it is up to them to improve the future generations and enable them to serve the country. The teachers of the country have the most valuable work in the highest level of work and performance. The duty of a teacher is more difficult and important than all other duties because the key to all kinds of moral and other virtues is in his hands. And the source of all development is its hard work.

It is a matter of great honour and privilege to be a teacher and an educator. The last prophet of God, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings of God be upon him) has said: Hadith: 229)

The responsibility of the best upbringing of the human race has been placed mainly on two people (1) the parents and (2) the teachers.

What are the basic responsibilities of a father and mother and what should be their role in educating children? A separate article on this subject will be presented. The importance and responsibilities of a successful teacher are described below.

The characteristics of a good and socially benevolent teacher can be divided into four headings: (1) teacher’s character and speech (2) lesson preparation and teaching style (3) relationship with students (4) students’ abilities and temperament Assessment (recognition).

Character and speech * The most successful teacher is the one who first acts on his knowledge

Only then will the students follow his words. A wise man says that when a scholar does not act on his knowledge, his advice slips from the hearts in the same way as raindrops slip from hard rock. There should be a good moral character so that all intelligent and unintelligent students can benefit from it. It has often been observed that unintelligent students of hard-nosed teachers fall towards failure which is mainly due to their conscience in front of the teacher. The greatest practical example of punctuality should be a teacher because as long as he is punctual, his students will be punctual. Then the same time bound student will prove to be appreciative of time even in practical life. There are ups and downs in human life, anxiety, illness and necessities of life are with everyone, but of nature. It is not appropriate to take a vacation or arrive late to school because of the slightest inconvenience and the work that anyone else can do. In the eyes of a good teacher, the future of the nation is affected by the slightest delay. ۔

(2) Lesson preparation and teaching style

Therefore, education and training are very important and the main responsibility of education and training falls on the teacher. Thus, every teacher of art and subject has to work hard and do according to his subject, but the responsibility of the teachers of Islamic and related subjects in school and college is the most important. The teacher of Islamic studies should remember that he is teaching religion and religion, so, first of all, he should understand this subject and lesson well, he should never give his personal opinion in Qur’an and Hadith, what the elders and predecessors wrote and Explain what he should teach the students. The basic tenets of faith, beliefs and obligatory sciences that are included in the syllabus must be taught in a good way and the faith should be instilled in their heart in such a way that they can go to any institution or sector of the world and remain true Muslims. Note: To learn more about the preparation of lessons and the best teaching, read Maktab al-Madinah’s book “Who is a Successful Teacher?”

(3) Extracurricular Training Activities * The

the teacher should not be limited to teaching but should use both extracurricular and extracurricular methods to assist children in the learning process.

* The role and responsibility of the teacher are not limited to the educational institution, the student is the plant planted by the teacher to protect and nurture, protect from the cold and heat of the world, nurture, care and nurture the teacher Responsibilities include. Therefore, he should be as familiar as possible with the student’s engagements and occupations other than the school so that he can give him homework and give appropriate advice in case of lack of preparation or lack of lessons, etc. It is not a real success to just read a book and complete the curriculum, the real success is to teach the curriculum as well as the book of life, the Islamic principles of living and being successful in the world.

* Both parents and teachers play an important role in the training of a child, the teacher should never think that they have come to read to me, read a book, listen to the lessons and send them back, the training should be done by the parents themselves.

* To keep in mind every aspect of the training of children, male teachers, children’s fathers and female teachers should contact the mother and try to remove their shortcomings and shortcomings. Instead of complaining about everything, consult with a sincere intention to correct the flaws and do your best to inculcate in the children a passion for learning.

* A good teacher instils in the hearts of his students a commitment to his purpose and goal and encourages them to avoid useless pursuits. A successful teacher needs to make his students accustomed to hard work. And explain to them that laziness, sluggishness, wastage of time and the habit of postponing work degrade the quality of education which is the total loss of a nation.

(4) Assessment of students’ ability and physical inclination

* The attributes of a good teacher include encouraging your students in case of troubles and failures and advising them to work harder and give good advice, says a Madani Islamic brother that I took the intermediate exams. When the result came, I failed in the Arabic subject, I was very worried that I failed in my favourite subject! Coincidentally, my very kind and the esteemed teacher was visiting a caravan in our city. I had the privilege of meeting him. When asked about the situation, he encouraged me and took me to a nearby bakery and fed me, sweets. If not, go to the Board Office and have your paper re-checked. I dared and reached the board office, lodged a complaint, got a week when I went back a week later, a Syed Sahib (who had lodged the complaint) in the board office said enthusiastically: Hey Hafiz Sahib! Where are you left, God willing, you have got a lot of numbers! ”He handed me the new result card. As soon as I saw it, I thanked God that I had 92% marks in my Arabic subject.

* Giving good advice and guidance to the student in terms of his mental ability, inclination and passion is also one of the highest attributes and responsibilities of a good teacher. Madani Islami Bhai, Imam and Khatib of a mosque, says that after memorizing the Qur’an, he went to the college to get admission. : “Son! I thought that you would teach Nizami. ”Qari Sahib had noticed my mental inclination during memorization, so he gave such advice, so that one sentence changed my world and, thank God, I took admission in Nizami teaching and completed it. Later, I was engaged in an important department of Imamate, oratory and religious service in the mosque.

* Students in the final year of formal education are choosing fields to go into practical life. At this point, the students are in dire need of the right guidance. A compassionate and experienced teacher is required to guide the students towards the right department according to their abilities and physical inclinations. A Madani Islamic brother from the scientific department of the Islamic Da’wah, Al-Madinah Al-Ulamiya, states that I was studying in the fifth grade at Al-Madinah University. One day a question came to my mind and I started studying about it but could not find a suitable answer. Eventually, in light of his study, he prepared a questionnaire and presented it to his teacher. When the teacher saw the text, the first piece of advice he gave was that you should take the entrance test in Al-Madinah Al-Alamiya. At the moment I did not intend to do any work, on the second and third day the teacher made up his mind, so I took the test in “Al-Madinah Al-Alamiya” and Alhamdulillah succeeded

Dear Islamic Brothers! The only true meaning of the above mentioned true stories is that a good teacher guides and encourages his students at every step and at every turn.

The Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the wisest and most successful teacher in the universe. I was sent as a teacher. (Ibn Majah, 1/150, Hadith: 229)

A study of the hadiths of Mubarakah and the biography of the Holy Prophet (saws) makes it clear that the beloved of God, the Holy Prophet (saws), the Companions, the Companions, the Ahlul Bayt, Values were reformed and taught in a good and heartfelt manner. Here are some teaching Madani flowers that a teacher gets from Sira-e-Mustafa:

Say hello to the student. The teacher should come to the class with a smile, a cheerful disposition and a welcome to the students who come later. It is narrated in the Holy Hadith: Hazrat Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and at that time he was leaning on his chador and entering the mosque. Attended service to receive. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Welcome to the seeker of knowledge, that is, welcome to the seeker of knowledge.” He added, “The angels shade the seeker with their wings.”

(Majam al-Kabir, 8/54, Hadith: 7347).

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) bequeathed the same to his Companions: “Soon nations will come to you seeking knowledge, so when you see them, say to them: Welcome according to the will of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). ! Welcome! ”Then he said:“ And teach them. ”(Ibn Majah, 1/161, Hadith: 247) Paying

attention to the questioner It is narrated that a person came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and asked a question. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) raised his head towards him. The narrator said: You raised your head towards him because he was standing. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) answered his question. (Bukhari, 1/65, Hadith: 123)

Advising and Attracting Students to Be Silent Before speaking or explaining something important, the teacher should silence all students and encourage them to listen attentively, otherwise many students may be afraid to take advantage of this important point. Is. It is narrated in the hadith that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood in Arafat and the sun was about to set at that time. So he said: “O Bilal! Silence the people for me. ”So Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) got up and said:“ Shut up for the sake of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). ”

(Al-Targhib wal-Tarhib, 2/130, Hadith: 7)

Hazrat Syedna Khababarzi Allah Anhu says: We were sitting at the door of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he came to us and said: “Listen.” We said: “Surely we have heard (ie we are ready to listen). ) the Prophet peace be upon him: “Listen,” we said: “we heard.” the Prophet peace be upon him: “Listen,” we said: “we heard.”

( Sahih Ibn Habban, 1/251, Hadith: 284)

Addressing a student by name or nickname When one or a few students are meant for the word, calling them by their name and nickname is the cause of more attention, Holy Prophet (PBUH) The Blessed Sira and Ahadith of Allah (SWT) have been narrated in many hadiths like “Ya Ababakr”, “Ya’ishah”, “Yafatimah”, “Y’all”, “Yaabazar” etc.

Selection and Arranging of Subjects It is important for a competent teacher to choose subjects according to the needs of his students and his skills, to arrange the lessons to be taught in such a way that the students learn gradually. A study of the biography of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) shows that he initially focused on most of the beliefs, and when the Companions became firm in their beliefs, they He gave education according to the situation. If we consider this good choice and arrangement of the Holy Prophet (saw), then it becomes clear that maturity of beliefs is very important for devotion in worship, purity in affairs and purity in morals. The edicts of the Holy Prophet (saw) contain medicine, psychology, botany and many other sciences and arts, but the teaching of beliefs comes first. A teacher

Not every student has a strong sense of repetition, some understand the lesson in the first instance and some need repetition two or more times, so if a student asks to repeat the lesson It should be mentioned that this is also the benefit of the biography of Mustafa (peace be upon him). Hazrat Syedna Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: O Abu Saeed! Paradise has become obligatory for those who agree to be the Lord of Allah, the religion of Islam and the Messenger of Muhammad (peace be upon him). Pleased with this, Abu Sa’eed (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “O Messenger of Allah, say this again for me.” So he (peace be upon him) did (ie repeated what was said).

(Muslim, p. 806, Hadith: 4880)

Encouraging a student’s question A teacher should always remember that the one who comes to seek knowledge also asks questions and the teacher who encourages the students to ask questions to be popular among the students and to be a source of knowledge. At the same time, they increase the student’s desire for knowledge. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) used to encourage the Companions on a good question. It is narrated from Hazrat Mu’adh bin Jabal that I said: “O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Tell me the deed that will take me to Paradise! ”The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:“ Well done! Very good! Surely you asked about the great (thing). And indeed, it is an easy task for the one whom Allah makes easy.

Perform the obligatory prayers and pay the obligatory zakat. ” (Musnad Abi Daud Tayalisi, p. 76, Hadith: 560)

Frequently Asked Questions Some students go on asking questions. If those questions are of general interest, they should be answered appropriately instead of being rejected. The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): Which deed is most beloved to Allaah?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: On-time (to pay). ”He asked:“ Then which one? ”He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:“ Do good to your parents. ” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Jihad in the way of Allaah.” The narrator states: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told me about these (deeds). If I had asked more (questions), you would have told me more. ”(Bukhari, 1/196, Hadith: 527)

Now the best way of understanding (ie the way of explaining) is mentioned from the blessed biography of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

The verbal and practical method is human nature that the server listens to the speaker and sees his action as necessary, the virtue of a good teacher is that he arranges education in both words and deeds, students are given a new job or If you want to set a goal, first explain its practical form so that they can learn quickly and accurately. The edicts of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) bear witness to this method of teaching. On the first day, he performed every prayer at its first time and on the second day at its end. Then he asked: Where is the person asking about the prayer times? When he came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The time between these two times is the time of your prayer. (Muslim, p. 243, Hadith: 1391)

The Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) approach to understanding

is the most important way to make students think. This is the skill that promotes the practice of education and its lack is also harmful. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) also used various methods to explain his point, for example

Clarifying the word and repeating it as needed. Whenever the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) spoke, he would say it clearly and clearly and repeat it two or three times because of the importance of a particular thing or to explain it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to talk so slowly that the person sitting next to him would remember him. While in one narration it is said that he used to repeat the word (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) three times to understand it. (Tirmidhi, 5/366, Hadith: 3659, 3660) He said about Madinah: هِيَ طَابَّۃ, هِيَ طَابَّۃ. (Musnad Ahmad, 6/409, Hadith: 18544)

Explaining with Examples The Holy Qur’an, Hadiths and human nature are witnesses that if anything is explained through examples, it will be understood very quickly and will remain in the mind for a long time. As

it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Dharr Ghaffari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came out in winter while the leaves of the trees were falling, he grabbed a branch of a tree and shook its leaves. He said: O Abu Dharr! I said: O Messenger of Allah! I am present He said: Indeed when a Muslim prays for the pleasure of Allah, his sins fall like the leaves of a tree.

(Musnad Ahmad, 8/133, Hadith: 21612)

(2) It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) passed by a dead kid with a small ear. Some of his Companions were also with him. He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was with him. He grabbed his ear and said: Which of you would like to buy it for one dirham? People asked: We don’t like to take it in return for anything, what will we do with it? He said: Would you like to have it? He said: By Allah! Even if he was alive, there was a defect in him that one of his ears was small and now that he is dead, how can anyone take him? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: By Allaah! As if this dead child has no place in your eyes, the world is even more despised in the sight of Allah. (Muslim, p. 1210, Hadith: 7418)

Asking questions to explain Some things are useful to explain in a questioning manner, ie if there is a need to explain the importance of something, to explain an important thing or if a student asks a question, then ask the students a question that they know the answer to and It also has to do with what is being said, as the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave an example of the elimination of sins through prayer and said to the Companions (may Allaah bless him and grant him peace): If he bathes in the canal and bathes in it five times a day, will there be any miles left on his body? The Companions asked: There will be no miles left on his body. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: This is the example of the five prayers. God forgives sins through it. (Bukhari, 1/196, Hadith: 528)

In the same way, on one occasion, to explain the greatness of a believer, he asked: The example of a believer is like a tree whose leaves do not fall. Tell me which tree it is? The audience began to name different trees. Hazrat Syedna Abdullah bin Umar was very intelligent, he says that it occurred to me that there is a palm tree but I felt ashamed to tell him. Then the audience asked: O Messenger! The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: It is a palm tree.

(Muslim, p. 1157, Hadith: 7098)

Explaining with hand gestures The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to use gestures with his hands to explain something, so while describing the status of the one who raises orphans, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: That I and the sponsor of the orphan will be like this in Paradise. Then he pointed with his index and middle finger. (Bukhari, 3/497, Hadith: 5304)

Explaining through lines and maps etc. The Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to make his words come to the minds of the Companions (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) by making maps etc. Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drew a square letter and drew a letter in the middle of it. I was this then he said: This is a man and this is his death surrounded him and what has come out of this is his hope and these little letters are calamities. When he escaped, he cut. (Bukhari, 4/224, Hadith: 6417)

It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) drew a letter for us, then he said: This is the way of Allah Almighty. He drew letters, then said: These are the paths to which Satan is calling.

(Musnad Abu Daud Tayalisi, p. 33, Hadith: 244)

Praying for students One of the characteristics of a teacher who has knowledge and sincerity and love for the student is that he prays in the presence of God for the success of his student. There are many such incidents in the biography of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), so Hazrat Abdullah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) hugged me and said: O Allaah! Give him the knowledge of the Book, the Holy Qur’an.

(Bukhari, 1/44, Hadith: 75)

In addition to these examples and hadiths, there are many civil flowers for a teacher in the biography of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). He used to show great gentleness and compassion during his teaching and preaching Because of this, everyone had a pleasant effect and after learning, it was a pleasure to act on it. In addition to adopting these methods, a successful teacher needs to have different qualities and a good character so that his personality can revolutionize the lives of the students and at the same time he can be gentle with his students. Adopt the attitude of love, instead of beating, abusing, foolish, naughty, etc. when immoral and wrongdoing is committed, explain it with gentleness and love. Making fun of their baseless objections and creating a state of annoyance over deep objections is totally against the Prophet’s biography. Instead of focusing on selfishness and the pursuit of wealth, focus on the well-being of students and a better future. May Allah Almighty grant us all the ability to adapt the blessed life of Mustafa Kareem (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Amen instead of the Prophet, peace be upon him, peace and blessings are upon him.
