Creation

BISE Sahiwal was launched on June 15, 2012, by the Department of Higher Education (HED) Punjab. Prior to its establishment, Sahiwal and Pakpattan were being provided the BISE Multan facility. BISE Lahore facility was being provided to Okara district.

Fundraising

The board is an autonomous body with the power to make rules. He does not receive any grant-in-aid or donation from the government. Or other quasi-government agencies will have to prepare their own funds in exchange for exams and other fees.

Appointments

The board is an independent body and government. Punjab is its controlling authority. The Chairman, Secretary Controller Examinations, Audit Officer, and DPE are appointed by the controlling authority/government. Usually on deputation for a period of 3 years. Other officers and staff of BS-16 and above are appointed by the Governors, Chairman in BS-5 to BS-15 and Secretary in BS-1 to BS-4.
